Replaces the terms "day care," "daycare," and "day-care" with "child care" throughout various Illinois Acts when referring to the care of a child

Amends the Child Care Act of 1969 to update definitions for "day care center," "part day child care facility," and "day care agency" to reflect the new terminology

Makes changes to provisions concerning the prohibition of unlicensed practice, criminal background investigations, and advertisements related to child care facilities

Repeals exemptions from licensure for day care homes and group day care homes serving children of military personnel and children from foreign states or countries

Takes effect July 1, 2026
