Restores language deleted by Public Act 101-235 requiring incarcerated persons to reimburse the Illinois Department of Corrections for the expenses of their incarceration at a rate determined by the Department

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections (Sections 3-2-2, 3-12-2, and 3-12-5) and adds new Section 3-7-6a establishing the reimbursement requirement

Grants the Department authority to investigate the assets of committed persons to implement the incarceration cost recovery provisions

Amends the Code of Civil Procedure (Section 4-101) to support enforcement of the reimbursement obligation

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
