IL SB4068

Prohibits health insurance issuers from requiring prior authorization for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), and HIV treatment medications approved by the FDA, including therapeutic equivalents.

Expands mandatory insurance coverage to include pre-PrEP HIV screenings, sexually transmitted infection screenings, kidney function analysis, routine laboratory testing, and routine provider visits associated with those screenings.

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code and the Prior Authorization Reform Act to implement these requirements.

Effective date is January 1, 2028.
