Urges the Illinois Health Information Management Association (ILHIMA) to form a working group to evaluate patient identification challenges across healthcare settings including acute care, ambulatory, long-term care, and public health.

Working group would examine data quality issues affecting patient matching accuracy, including data capture, standardization, and governance practices.

Evaluation scope includes interoperability and information exchange considerations, workforce and education gaps, and existing state and federal patient identity initiatives.

Working group is tasked with drafting comprehensive recommendations including potential legislative suggestions to improve patient identity, data quality, privacy, and information governance.

Findings and recommendations would be presented to the Illinois General Assembly to inform future legislative efforts on patient safety and data integrity.
