Declares September 2, 2025 as National Board Certified Teachers Recognition Day in Illinois to celebrate the 25th anniversary of National Board Certification in the state

Illinois established the Teaching Excellence Program for National Board Certified Teachers in 1999, becoming one of the first states to support this initiative

Illinois ranks among the top states nationally with over 7,000 National Board Certified Teachers working in public schools, charter schools, and educational cooperatives

In 2024, 94 new teachers achieved National Board Certification and 206 existing certified teachers renewed their certification in Illinois

Directs that copies of the resolution be presented to the Governor, State Superintendent of Education, National Board Resource Center at Illinois State University, and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
