Congratulates Rend Lake College President Terry Wilkerson on his retirement on June 30, 2025, after more than 30 years of service to the institution and the Illinois Community College System

President Wilkerson began as a student at Rend Lake College in 1992, returned as an adjunct instructor in 1995, and became the college's seventh full-time president in April 2012

Under his leadership, the college developed key facilities including the Agronomy Innovation Center, RLC Event Center, Southern Illinois Manufacturing Academy in Mt. Vernon, and expanded athletic facilities

Secured tens of millions of dollars in grant funding, launched career-technical education programs, established the college's first competency-based welding program, and strengthened the long-term fund balance by approximately $20 million

Served in statewide leadership roles including chair of the Illinois Community College Council of Presidents and founder of the Illinois Community College Caucus
