Served as member and past president of the Quincy Tea Party and was active with the Adams County Republicans, presiding over Monday morning breakfast meetings

Survived by his wife of 25 years, Deborah; children Justin and Jessica Kennedy; two granddaughters; and four siblings

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to his family as an expression of sympathy from the Illinois Senate
