Honors the life of Rosemary S. Argus of Des Plaines, who passed away on June 18, 2025, at age 88

Served as the first female commissioner and first female president of the Mount Prospect Park District Board from 1974 to 2001, advocating for school lunch programs and before/after-school childcare

Represented the 8th Ward as alderperson on the Des Plaines City Council from 2001 to 2011

Served as executive director of the Des Plaines Community Foundation and the Edward and Wanda Jordan Family Foundation, supporting Thanksgiving meal deliveries, wheelchair ramp donations, and college scholarships

Received the Inspire Award for Community Service in 2017 and had Rosemary S. Argus Friendship Park named in her honor
