Officer Willis was born November 21, 1972 in Evergreen Park and began his law enforcement career as a cadet with Palos Hills Police Department, later serving with Cook County Sheriff's Office and Chicago Police Department

Joined Joliet Police Department in 2005, serving in the Patrol Division, Neighborhood Oriented Policing Team, K-9 Unit, and the Police Honor Guard, receiving numerous awards and commendations

Survived by his wife of 21 years, Laurie; sons Cullen and Mason; his parents; and his K9 partner, Ady

Illinois Senate extends condolences to Officer Willis's family and directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to them
