Illinois Senate memorial resolution honoring Thomas William "Tom" Ritter of Blue Mound, who passed away on August 20, 2025

Born February 12, 1952 in Decatur, graduated from Blue Mound High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Served as president of the Macon County Farm Bureau and was one of the longest-tenured Illinois Farm Bureau Crop Watchers; member of the Illinois Soybean Association, National Soybean Checkoff Board, and U.S. Grains Council

Held leadership positions including president and trustee of Richland Community College, president of the Meridian School Board and Blue Mound School Board, supervisor of Pleasant View Township, and co-organizer of the annual Blue Mound Fall Festival

Survived by his wife of 46 years, Diana; three sons (Cory, Cole, and Cale); and four grandchildren
