Memorial resolution mourning the death of Charles James "Charlie" Kirk, who died on September 10, 2025 at age 31 after being shot while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University

Kirk was born in Arlington Heights on October 14, 1993, attended Wheeling High School and Harper College, and co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012 at age 18

Kirk hosted The Charlie Kirk Show on talk radio, authored multiple books, and spoke at major political events including CPAC 2022 and the 2024 Republican National Convention

Kirk is survived by his wife Erika Lane Frantzve (married May 8, 2021), two children (a three-year-old daughter and one-year-old son), and his parents Robert and Kimberly Ann Kirk

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to the Kirk family as an expression of sympathy from the Illinois Senate
