Illinois Senate resolution mourning the death of Brian Keith Baptist of Jacksonville, who passed away on September 21, 2025 at age 49

Baptist served over 20 years in law enforcement, graduating from the Police Training Institute in February 2005, promoted to sergeant on June 22, 2014, and was planning to retire in November 2025

Prior to law enforcement, he worked as a teacher and baseball coach at Jacksonville High School, earning a degree in education from MacMurray College in 1998

Baptist was a 1997 NCAA conference champion in golf and member of the 1997 conference championship football team while at MacMurray College

Resolution extends condolences to his surviving wife Jennifer, children Makenna and Daxton, mother Barbara, and other family members
