Declares April 3, 2026 as Jane Goodall Day in the State of Illinois to honor the life and work of Dr. Jane Goodall, who passed away on October 1, 2025

Recognizes Dr. Goodall's 65-year study of wild chimpanzees in Gombe, Tanzania, including her groundbreaking discovery that chimpanzees use tools

Acknowledges her founding of the Jane Goodall Institute in 1977, now operating 25 offices worldwide, and the Roots & Shoots youth program, which began in 1991 and expanded to 75 countries

Notes her authorship of 32 books, including 15 children's books, with her final publication "The Book of Hope" translated into more than 20 languages

Honors her numerous accolades including the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom, Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, and designation as a United Nations Messenger of Peace
