Memorial resolution honoring Father Daren J. Zehnle of Quincy, who passed away on November 27, 2025, at age 47

Ordained to the Catholic priesthood on May 28, 2005, after graduating from Quincy University (2000) and Mundelein Seminary (2005), with later graduate studies in canon law at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (2013-2016)

Served multiple Illinois parishes including St. Anthony of Padua in Effingham, Sacred Heart in Virden, St. Patrick in Girard, Holy Cross in Auburn, St. Agnes in Springfield, St. Augustine in Ashland, and St. Peter in Petersburg

At the time of his death, served as director of the Office for Divine Worship and the Catechumenate, adjutant judicial vicar, director of campus ministry at Quincy University, and adjunct professor of theology

The Illinois Senate extends condolences to his surviving family, including his brother David Zehnle and nephew Matthew Zehnle
