Memorial resolution honoring Edward John "Ed" Ovca of Nokomis, who passed away on November 7, 2025 at age 95

Began working at Free Press-Progress newspaper at age 11, purchased it in 1953, and served as publisher and editor for 30 years before retiring

Served on the Nokomis Chamber of Commerce, City of Nokomis Council, and Nokomis Community Unit School District #22 Board, and was a Rotary International member for over 40 years

Survived by his wife Eleanor of 75 years, four children, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild

Illinois Senate extends condolences and directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to his family
