Lifelong farmer who was named Adams County Outstanding Young Farmer in 1979 and received the Quincy Herald-Whig Farm Family of the Year award in 1997

Served on Liberty Community District #2 School Board for 34 years, Adams County Board for 6 years, and was a Liberty Lions Club member for 44 years

Active in numerous organizations including Adams County Farm Bureau, Adams County Soil and Water Conservation Committee, and St. Brigid Catholic Church where he was a 70-year member

Survived by his wife Diana of 56 years, four children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren
