U.S. Navy veteran who graduated top of his flight school class, served as a night fighter jet interceptor tactics instructor, flew the F-4D Skyray with Fighter Squadron 74, and performed in a night carrier exercise for President Eisenhower in 1958

Earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown Law School, working as a patent examiner handling classified military and NASA applications before practicing at Covington & Burling

Operated a private law practice in Kewanee for over 55 years, serving as public defender, prosecutor, and municipal counsel while teaching business law at Black Hawk East for 10 years

Active community member for over 60 years with the Kewanee Rotary Club (past president, Paul Harris Fellow), Boy Scouts of America (Silver Beaver recipient), and lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion
