Led the Large Unit District Association for ten years in retirement, advocating for PK-12 large districts and mentoring superintendents across Illinois

Served on numerous community boards including Springfield Public Schools Foundation, Memorial Health Systems, United Way of Central Illinois, and the P-20 Council

Received multiple honors including the First Citizen Award, Illinois State Board of Education's Those Who Excel Award of Excellence, Athena Award, and Western Illinois University's Distinguished Alumni Award
