Born January 17, 1943 in Waynesboro, Mississippi; earned degrees from Tennessee State University (B.S., 1964), Olivet Nazarene College (M.S., 1972), and University of Sarasota (Ed.D, 1977)

Served as teacher, coach, assistant principal, businessman, television host, author, and mentor in communities across Mississippi and Illinois (Kankakee and Springfield)

Survived by wife Gloria Jordan (married 33 years), brother Jimmie Jordan, three children, and four grandchildren

Illinois Senate expresses condolences and directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to his family
