Memorial resolution honoring Dominic Constantino Giacomini of Springfield, who passed away on February 19, 2026, at age 91

Served as women's tennis coach at Sangamon State University/University of Illinois Springfield for 16 seasons (1991-2007), winning 177 matches and eight NAIA regional titles, and was inducted into the UIS Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015

Coached tennis at Ursuline Academy (leading to three state tournaments) and Lincoln Land Community College, and hosted the Giacomini Tennis Academy for over 35 years

Worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation - Urban Planning for 32 years before retiring in 1991; also operated Giacomini Parking in the Springfield Medical District

Survived by his wife Patricia (married 1959), seven children, 25 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren; served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
