City employees who become members of their city's legislative body after June 30, 2010 are automatically considered to have resigned from their city employment upon assuming office

The restriction does not apply to city employees who were already serving on their city's legislative body on June 30, 2010, as long as they continue to hold or are reelected to that position

City employees may still hold elected offices in other political subdivisions besides the city that employs them without triggering automatic resignation

The bill amends IC 36-1-8-10.5 and adds IC 36-4-4-2.5 to establish these new qualification restrictions
