• State department of health must study the effects of antibiotics used on animals in nontherapeutic situations, effective July 1, 2010.

• Study must examine the potential for nontherapeutic antibiotic use to create drug-resistant bacteria and the effects of such bacteria on animals and humans exposed through environment or food consumption.

• State department of health must report study results to the general assembly by July 1, 2011 in electronic format.
