IN HB1287

Amends IC 22-2-6-2 to permit wage assignments for any purpose described in a written agreement between an employee and an employer, effective July 1, 2010.

Maintains existing requirements that wage assignments must be in writing, signed by the employee, revocable by written notice, agreed to by the employer in writing, and delivered within 10 days of execution.

Adds new subsection (14) allowing wage assignments for purposes not previously enumerated, subject to any limitations imposed by federal or state law.

Preserves all previously established allowable purposes for wage assignments, including insurance premiums, charitable contributions, bond/security purchases, employer stock purchases, labor union dues, merchandise purchases, employer loans, and credit union payments.
