IN HB1349

Removes the requirement that qualified service members serve on active duty only "after September 11, 2001" and "during a time of national conflict or war" to be eligible for military family relief fund assistance.

Simplifies eligibility criteria so that qualified service members need only be Indiana residents, members of the armed forces or National Guard, and serving on active duty (without temporal restrictions).

Changes eligibility period for assistance from ending at the earlier of either when active duty ends or when a national conflict/war ends, to ending one year after the service member's active duty service ends.

Removes language requiring the board to specifically provide adequate funding for the military family relief fund "during a time of war or national conflict," making funding obligations unconditional.

Effective July 1, 2010.
