Prohibits influenza vaccines containing thimerosal (a mercury-based preservative) from being administered to children ages 6-36 months and pregnant women, with exceptions when no alternatives are available or during emergencies such as vaccine shortages or epidemics

Allows vaccines with less than 0.5 micrograms of mercury per 0.5 milliliter dose when thimerosal-free alternatives are unavailable

Requires the Indiana State Department of Health to prepare informational materials about thimerosal for distribution to vaccine recipients, parents, and guardians, including the fact that thimerosal contains 49.6% mercury

Mandates the state department to study the feasibility of requiring all Indiana vaccines to be thimerosal-free and submit a report to the General Assembly by October 1, 2010

Health care practitioners who fail to provide the required thimerosal information materials to patients face disciplinary sanctions from their licensing boards
