IN HCR0001

Allows the Indiana Senate and House of Representatives of the 116th General Assembly to adjourn and recess separately for periods exceeding three consecutive days during the Second Regular Session, subject to approval by the Speaker of the House or President Pro Tempore of the Senate.

Requires each House to consent to adjournments or recesses of the other House lasting more than three days, as permitted under Indiana Constitution Article 4, Section 10.

Authorizes each chamber to operate on independent schedules and adjourn separately as deemed necessary by their respective leadership during the Second Regular Session.

Establishes that the House and Senate intend to recess after November 17, 2009, and reconvene on January 5, 2010, to conduct legislative business.

Directs the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives to notify the Senate of the resolution's passage.
