• Classifies ephedrine and pseudoephedrine as schedule V controlled substances effective July 1, 2010.

• Removes the requirement for retailers to maintain electronic or paper logs recording purchaser information (name, address, identification number) for sales of drugs containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine.

• Eliminates the requirement that store clerks initial or electronically record their identification on transaction logs for these drug sales.

• Repeals IC 5-2-6-20 and removes the electronic log system from the Department of State Police's appropriations authority.

• Maintains other restrictions on ephedrine and pseudoephedrine sales including age verification, quantity limits (3 grams per transaction, 3 grams per week), secure storage requirements, and reporting of suspicious orders to state police.
