SB 86 Summary

• Removes the requirement that parents or guardians publish the first notice of a minor child's name change petition within seven days after filing.

• Maintains the existing requirement for three weekly newspaper publications with the last publication at least 30 days before the hearing date.

• Renumbers subsections in IC 34-28-2-3 due to the deletion of the seven-day publication deadline provision.

• Effective July 1, 2010.
