Victims claiming stolen property must present documentation specifically identifying the item by serial number to obtain its return

Pawnbrokers who return stolen items gain a civil cause of action against the person who sold or pledged the stolen property to them

Successful lawsuits allow pawnbrokers to recover the amount paid for the stolen item, court-determined interest from the date of the transaction, and reasonable attorney's fees
