SB 180 Summary

• Requires holders of retailer's permits who sell alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption to provide information to the alcohol and tobacco commission about their liability insurance coverage at permit renewal.

• Mandates retailers report whether they maintain liability insurance for damages arising from alcoholic beverage sales and, if applicable, provide the policy coverage limits.

• Requires the commission to compile this information and submit an annual report to the legislative council by December 31 of each year in electronic format.

• Prohibits the commission from renewing a retailer's permit unless the permit holder provides the required liability insurance information.

• Effective July 1, 2010.
