Senate Bill No. 201 - Summary

• Creates a new crime for knowingly or intentionally making a materially false statement on any form or statement required under Indiana election law, classified as a Class D felony.

• Requires courts to terminate the public employment of any convicted person who is employed by the state, a political subdivision, or a body corporate and politic.

• Prohibits convicted persons from employment with the state, any political subdivision, or body corporate and politic for five years following sentencing.

• Effective July 1, 2010.
