Repeals IC 31-19-21 and IC 31-19-22 effective July 1, 2011, which previously prohibited release of identifying adoption information for adoptions finalized before January 1, 1994 without written consent.

Extends the provision allowing release of identifying adoption information unless a nonrelease is on file to all adoptions, regardless of when the adoption was filed, beginning July 1, 2011.

Previously, the ability to release identifying adoption information without consent applied only to adoptions filed after December 31, 1993; this bill eliminates that date restriction.

Amends the definition of "nonidentifying information" to remove reference to IC 31-19-21 and clarifies which statutes apply to adoption information disclosure.

Effective date: July 1, 2011.
