Senate Bill No. 386 Summary

• Amends IC 14-22-11-11 to exempt certain discharged veterans from Indiana fishing license requirements.

• Allows residents who served in federal active duty outside the United States within the preceding 24 months as National Guard or armed forces members to fish any in-season species without a license.

• Requires discharged veterans to present official military discharge papers and a motor vehicle operator's license or voter registration card to law enforcement upon request while fishing.

• Maintains existing provision allowing active duty military personnel on leave to hunt or fish without a license by presenting leave orders and proof of Indiana residency.

• Effective date: July 1, 2010.
