IN HB1034

Expands the immunizations pharmacists can administer to groups under a drug order, prescription, or physician-approved protocol to include shingles and pneumonia vaccines (in addition to existing influenza authorization)

Lowers the minimum age for minors to receive immunizations under a physician's protocol from 14 years to 9 years of age, with parental or guardian consent and presence required

Requires pharmacists to notify the authorizing physician and the patient's primary care physician within 14 days of administering an immunization

Maintains requirement that the prescribing physician must be licensed in Indiana and not employed by a pharmacy

Effective date: July 1, 2011
