• Allows pharmacists to administer any vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to groups of individuals under a drug order, prescription, or physician-approved protocol.

• Expands the age requirement for minors receiving immunizations under a physician protocol from at least 14 years old to at least 9 years old, with parental or legal guardian consent and presence required.

• Requires pharmacists to notify the authorizing physician and the individual's primary care physician within 14 days after administering an immunization.

• Permits pharmacists to administer any immunization during declared emergencies determined by the state department of health or department of homeland security, following specified requirements.

• Effective date: July 1, 2011.
