IN HB1109

Allows veterans of the U.S. armed forces to request that their veteran status be displayed on Indiana driver's licenses, permits, and state identification cards by indicating their preference on the application and providing proof of discharge (such as a DD-214 form)

Defines "proof of discharge" as a document issued by the U.S. Department of Defense confirming a veteran's discharge from the armed forces

Expands acceptable voter identification to include military documents issued by the Department of Defense, uniformed services branches, Merchant Marine, or Indiana National Guard that have no expiration date or an indefinite expiration date

Requires the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to maintain records of veteran status information provided by applicants
