Employees of counties, cities, towns, or townships are automatically considered resigned from their government job if they assume an elected executive position or become an elected member of the unit's executive, legislative, or fiscal body after June 30, 2011

Current officeholders grandfathered in: employees who already hold elected office in their employing unit on June 30, 2011 may continue in both roles as long as they remain in or are reelected to that office

Government employees may still hold elected office in a different unit than the one that employs them without resigning

Amends multiple Indiana Code sections (IC 3-5, IC 36-1-8-10.5, IC 36-4-4-2, IC 36-8-10-11) to implement these restrictions on dual employment and elected service
