HB 1264 Summary

• Requires opioid treatment programs to conduct periodic pregnancy tests for female patients applying for or receiving treatment.
• Prohibits pregnant women from participating in opioid treatment programs for the duration of their pregnancy.
• Mandates referral of pregnant patients to a health care provider for prenatal care and other medical assistance upon positive pregnancy test.
• Adds pregnancy testing to existing drug screening requirements (methadone, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, barbiturates, THC, benzodiazepines, and other suspected drugs).
• Effective July 1, 2011.
