HB 1347 Summary

• Makes battery against a law enforcement officer or person summoned by the officer a Class D felony when committed while the officer is executing official duties.

• Removes previous Class A misdemeanor designation for battery against law enforcement officers and replaces it with Class D felony classification.

• Amends IC 35-37-4-6 and IC 35-37-4-8 to correct cross-references from battery upon a child subsection (a)(2)(B) to (a)(2)(A).

• Effective July 1, 2011.
