IN HB1481

Reduces the age at which parental child support duty ceases from 21 years old to 19 years old, effective July 1, 2011.

Maintains exceptions to the cessation of support: when a child is emancipated before age 19, when a child is incapacitated, or when a child age 18+ is not in school and can support themselves.

Allows child support orders for educational needs to continue beyond emancipation until the court orders otherwise.

Applies changes to both IC 31-14-11-18 and IC 31-16-6-6 concerning family law and juvenile law provisions.
