HB 1491 Summary

• Allows the alcohol and tobacco commission to issue a liquor wholesaler's permit to persons who hold both a beer wholesaler's permit (for at least 5 years) and a wine wholesaler's permit.

• Permits holders of beer and wine wholesaler's permits to operate a liquor wholesale business independently from their beer or wine wholesale businesses.

• Prohibits beer wholesaler's permit holders from holding interests in liquor permits, except for liquor wholesaler's permits under the new provisions.

• Restricts wine wholesalers who also hold liquor wholesaler's permits (but not beer wholesaler's permits) from selling more than one million gallons of flavored malt beverage per calendar year.

• Effective July 1, 2011.
