HB 1546 Summary

• Allows unlicensed handgun carrying on property or in vehicles owned, leased, rented, or legally controlled by the person.

• Permits unlicensed handgun carrying on private property of another person when lawfully present, at shooting ranges, during firearms instruction, or while hunting.

• Permits unlicensed carrying of unloaded, securely wrapped handguns.

• Prohibits possession or carrying of handguns by persons convicted of domestic battery unless their firearm rights are restored by court order.

• Effective July 1, 2011.
