SB 73 Summary

• Provides a one-time "thirteenth check" payment to participants of the state excise police, gaming agent, gaming control officer, and conservation enforcement officers' retirement plan who retired or became disabled on or before December 1, 2009.

• Payment must be made no later than July 1, 2011, to eligible plan participants or their survivors/beneficiaries who were entitled to receive a monthly benefit on July 1, 2010.

• Payment amounts are $125 (disability only, less than 10 years service), $235 (10-19 years), $325 (20-29 years), or $400 (30+ years of creditable service).

• The payment is not considered an increase to the annual retirement allowance and uses creditable service from the original retirement benefit calculation (excluding partial years).

• Effective upon passage with expiration date of January 1, 2012.
