Senate Bill No. 75 Summary

• Requires presidential electors to vote for the candidates of the political party, group of petitioners, or write-in candidate that nominated them.

• An elector's failure or refusal to vote as required constitutes automatic resignation from the office of elector, and their vote cannot be recorded.

• Remaining electors must immediately fill any vacancy by paper ballot with a majority vote of those present.

• The governor must be notified of a newly elected elector's appointment by commission, and voting proceeds once a full slate of electors is reassembled.

• Effective July 1, 2011.
