• Enacts the Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act to govern jurisdiction, registration, transfer, and enforcement of guardianships and protective orders for adults across state lines.

• Extends temporary guardianship duration from 60 days to 90 days and establishes jurisdiction rules based on the respondent's home state, significant connection state, or emergency circumstances.

• Allows guardians appointed in other states to register guardianship orders in Indiana by filing certified copies of appointment documents, enabling them to exercise powers in Indiana.

• Provides procedures for transferring guardianships between states, including requirements for notice, hearings, and acceptance by the receiving state court.

• Effective July 1, 2011; applies to existing guardianships and all proceedings begun after that date, while guardianships established before the effective date remain under prior law.
