• Allows prosecuting attorneys to appoint one chief deputy prosecuting attorney with a maximum annual salary of 75% of the appointing prosecuting attorney's salary, with different rates depending on whether positions are full-time or part-time

• Permits prosecuting attorneys in counties with Department of Correction institutions housing at least 1,500 offenders to appoint two additional deputy prosecuting attorneys; allows appointment of a third deputy if the county has two such institutions

• Allows prosecuting attorneys in counties with correction institutions housing 100-1,500 offenders or state institutions with at least 350 daily patients to appoint one additional deputy prosecuting attorney

• Grants Cass County prosecuting attorney authority to appoint one additional deputy prosecuting attorney
