Senate Bill 133 Summary

• Repeals IC 7.1-5-10-23, which previously made it a Class B misdemeanor for alcohol beverage permittees, employees, or agents to sell alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption without first requiring proof of age.

• Removes the requirement that sellers obtain identification from purchasers consisting of a driver's license, government-issued ID card, or government-issued document bearing the person's photograph and birth date.

• Eliminates the criminal penalty for recklessly, knowingly, or intentionally selling alcohol without age verification documentation.

• Effective date: July 1, 2011.
