SB 151 Summary

• County chairmen of major political parties must submit the name and address of precinct committeemen and vice committeemen for each county precinct to the county election board by July 1 each year.

• County chairmen must update this information within seven calendar days of any changes occurring.

• Submitted information is open for public inspection and copying as a public record, but cannot be sold or used for commercial purposes.

• County chairmen who fail to submit required information on time face civil penalties of $50 per day, not to exceed $500 per submission, plus investigative costs; the county board may waive or reduce penalties by unanimous vote if deemed unjust.

• All civil penalties collected are deposited into the campaign finance enforcement account for election administration purposes.
