SB 358 Summary

• Requires the Department of Child Services to use funds from the adoption assistance account to make adoption subsidy payments for children with special needs.

• Applies to funds that become available when a child with special needs becomes eligible for federal adoption assistance under the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008.

• Exempts the Department from this requirement if no children with special needs are eligible for adoption subsidies under the state program.

• Effective July 1, 2011, and expires January 1, 2020.
