Prohibits the state, political subdivisions, and other persons from restricting lawful possession, transfer, sale, transportation, storage, display, or use of firearms or ammunition during declared disaster emergencies, energy emergencies, or local disaster emergencies, effective July 1, 2011.

Exempts from these protections firearms or ammunition possessed in violation of school property laws, child caring institutions, penal facilities, federal law, postsecondary educational institutions, domestic violence shelters, and facilities subject to federal Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards or Maritime Transportation Security Act requirements.

Prohibits public and private employers doing business in Indiana from requiring job applicants or employees to disclose firearm or ammunition ownership unless directly related to job duties.

Prohibits employers from conditioning employment or benefits on employees forgoing lawful ownership, possession, storage, transportation, or use of firearms or ammunition.

Allows aggrieved individuals to bring civil actions against violating employers, with courts authorized to award actual damages, court costs, attorney's fees, and exemplary or punitive damages for knowing and willful violations.
